Hello wonderful, fearless, overcoming women! It’s so good to talk with you again! I really mean it. There’s something about doing this Women Warrior blog that enables me to deal with most of the “Self Talk” inside my spirit.
You know self-talk. “What’s on my agenda for today?”, “What would I like for breakfast?”, “Did I remember to take the garbage out last night?”. It seems we are constantly being barraged with never-ending questions and statements. Most of the time they are harmless like the examples previously given, but what happens when you are being mentally attacked and don’t even realize it?

The assaulting statements and questions that go on in our minds are more revealing and easily spotted such as, “Who do you think you are? You can’t do that!”, “Why can’t you just keep your big mouth shut?”, ” Do you really think they are even interested in what you have to say?” , “I doubt it!”.
We need to get past these comments that are constantly trying to make us think less of ourselves than what we are. That’s why I encourage you to go into HIs word and get some “zingers” you can fire right back to the enemy when he is trying to make you feel less.
Can I share a guilty secret of mine? Don’t get too excited, it isn’t anything scathing or tabloid. I enjoy watching reruns of “I Love Lucy” starring Ricky Ricardo and Lucille Ball back in the heyday of television’s beginnings. You might spot me mentioning something I recently watched on one of the CDs my husband, Rick gave me for Christmas one time of seasons 1-4. They easily get me laughing with carefree abandonment at Lucy’s latest escapade.
Do I dare say I can relate to a lot of the episodes? Is this a bad thing? Lucy has a common weakness of mine that I don’t have full control over a lot more times than I care to admit. I tend to say things that fly out of my mouth without much deliberation on the outcome of what those words can cause. What’s worse is when I ACT on those words and set things into motion I’m unable to take back.
Before it sounds like I’m beating myself up, I do want to say that I’ve come a long way since my childhood days of temper tantrums and hissy fits when I didn’t get my way or the ice cream I wanted. The purpose of this particular blog is to enlighten us about the unyielding way the enemy tries to bring us down and keep us from fulfilling God’s purpose in our lives and a large part of the time, it starts with self-talk.

I encourage you to do a self-evaluation of how often you might be hearing these attacks and aren’t even aware of them. As women of God, we are allowed to hear the voice that speaks good things over us, and a lot of the time, He uses His word. My favorite “go-to” one is, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Phil 4:13. I can keep my mouth shut when I need to, but I can speak up when I have to also.
My prayer now is that we all take the authority we have through Christ to eliminate the negative self-talk that the enemy tries to encumber us with. Can we add a little more to our repertoire? How about 2 Corinthians 10:5 “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” We need to be proactive in recognizing negative self-talk, confront it and then disalble these thoughts. You can fulfill the assignment He has put on your life and it starts here, by negating what the enemy uses to deceive you.

Concentrate on what He says about you and what the word says about Him. Ephesians 6:10 “Finally be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”, and don’t forget 1 John 4:4 “You are from God, liittle children, and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.”
Don’t forget to like, share someone’s email with me so I can invite them to join us, or comment…..I love that!
