Forgotten Weapon

During my reading/study time this morning with The Lord, He prompted me to write about this. Last week, when I was writing about the Armor of God, I highlighted the verses from Ephesians 6:10-17,however, Father God spoke to me about mentioning this forgotten weapon that gets overlooked in the mentioning of the armor. I’ll let you decide if it’s a weapon or not.

It is is the stand. Standing on His word, Standing on His promises, just standing. “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities , against he powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything to stand.” Ephesians 6:10-13 NIV

Believe me, I understand the desire to “wack some demons in the head” and sometimes miss the strength that’s exhibited in just standing. It seems to be such an inactive word. Really? Stand….that’s all you got?! Dare I say that it is in the standing that God does His miraculous work? Moving and shaking, turning and revealing are all done in this tenuous phase. “For we live by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV

He is bringing things in your life to “come to pass” and this is where Faith gets to work. “For I am the Lord: “I will speak and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass…” Ezekiel 12:25a KJV. God is not going to go against His will, so it would be a good suggestion to find out what that is and I would suggest a deep study about whatever you are facing and need to stand for. First , His will is for ALL to be saved and for us to listen for His voice should He need our hands and feet to aide in that. His will is for us to love one another along with growing in Him by the renewing of our mind. I might have to write on this another time: back to standing. :0)

What’s all involved in waiting for the “coming to pass” time? This is the time to hunker down! Some strategies that I use during this standing period are, praise, prayer, and quoting scriptures that pertain to the situation I’m waiting for. Some scriptures in particular that I really like to use at this standing time is, “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed even God, who quikeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” Romans 4:17 KJV and, “With God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 b NIV. They strengthen my faith along with enabling my patience to develop and persevere.

“But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart though all generations.” Psalms 33:11 NIV is another one He led me to discover just recently to remind me that God’s Will shall be done! He has it all under control. I hope this has helped you to see that even though it’s not mentioned as such, Standing is another form of ammunition we should definitely learn to employ.

What is encouraging to me, is that we don’t have to stand alone. I imagine us all shoulder to shoulder in a huddle saying, “Come on girl, you got this!” Everyone needs someone in their life to be an encourager and a strengthener. A Jonathan to a David, an Elizabeth to a Mary. God, I pray that You make us into those kind of women for each other!
