Thinking of Zechariah 4:10 right now. Here Zachariah is telling the remnant of people that returned from Babylon to rebuild the temple that was destroyed in Jerusalem to not despise the day of small beginnings.
So yes, my blog is a far smaller thing than the rebuilding of the temple that was demolished, but I still have the same kind of hope that the rebuilders of the temple must have had in their hearts when they began.
And then I contemplate the overwhelming lists they must have had going on in their heads as they began the restoration. “Do we have enough manpower to get more stones? Are we able to stack them again? Where’s the water? I’m thirsty!” are the feeble cries I hear in my mind.
To not get overwhelmed as I am sure they also must have felt, I will celebrate small accomplishments when they come.
