This makes me think of all the times I walked away from God and did things my way. Did things my flesh wanted to do. Said things that I wanted to say no matter the repercussions, and oh were there some heartaches because of that.
But God had something greater in store for me! He has always loved me and has NEVER given up on establishing relationship with me!
Lord, help me to choose Your ways and not my own! Thank you for your faithfulness to me….little old me. Reminds me of what David said in Psalm 8:4, “What is man that you are mindful of him?” ASV (American Standard Version)
In case you forgot, He sees us as wonderful, lovely, set apart, and consecrated to Him.
Lord, help me to see myself the way that you see me.
This is the battle friends as long as our feet are planted on this side of eternity, on this terra firma. Voices from family, friends, and others. Voices from media (look this way, look that way, look any way except the way you were created. Ideas of what you should do and how you should do it are always coming from these sources, but don’t you forget that the one we are to listen to first is our Lord and Savior!
We do not place our value in the world’s eyes. Ephesians 2:4-9 states, “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ–by grace you have been saved- and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of this grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God.
So go out and do what God leads you to do. Sing that song, make that declaration, and share the message of hope with whoever will listen! Can I add another thing? Love on each other well, because we all get a little battle weary and time is growing short.
