All Things Are Possible!

Hello friends! It’s me, your friendly neighborhood all-around cheerleader (even though I NEVER made the squad…sigh)! That’s how I like to see myself. Sitting on the sidelines of your life in a Blue and White uniform with a cute little skirt and yes, since this is my imagination, long, tan legs! Anybody can dream right?!

Seriously though, I am here to encourage you to reach for the things you might think are impossible in your life. Things hiding in the dark corners of your mind not wanting to get noticed, not wanting to be called out, and definitely not wanting to be held accountable.

Do you know what I’m talking about? I’m speaking of the “impossibles” in your life. Health and healing? Impossible. Joy? Impossible. Love? Impossible. Patience? Impossible. Bringing loved ones to the Cross? Impossible. The list goes on and on of things the enemy has tried to convince us that Christ hasn’t made a way for. Wouldn’t hurt to remind him of Matthew 19:26. Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” NIV

Do not let go of the things Christ has paid for us. It’s hard to imagine what the world wouldn’t give for an ounce of peace if they could buy it. The sad thing is that’s one of the benefits of knowing Christ. So are love, joy, and kindness. Ringing a bell? They should be, they are some of the fruits of Spirit that Christ has given all of us. The trick? Learning to operate in them instead of all the negative stuff the enemy tries to entice your mind with.

Don’t forget a prior blog about transforming your mind I sent out earlier in the year. We have to do this daily!

Back to the “impossibles”. I’m thinking of the scripture in Galatians 6:9 that says, “And let us not become weary in doing good, at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” NIV What kind of a harvest? A harvest of people who we had a part in getting across the finish line of salvation through our encouragement, teaching, leading, or plain old influencing.

This does not have to be only done in speech. It is far better to show people through our actions how to live a life of an overcomer through our love. The kind of love that God gives us for everyone in our lives. As usual, I’m not just thinking of our parents, spouses, children, aunts, and uncles, but also “the others” in our lives. What about the person next to you in a waiting room? What about someone you work with? What about your child’s teacher?

Think about “enlarging your tent” as God states in Isaiah 54: 2. “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left, your descendants will dispossess nations.” NIV He was speaking to the nation of Israel of His great desire to be the God of all people, not just Jewish people, but gentiles also! Think of it! This includes every tribe and every nation. No one is excluded except those who do not want to be INCLUDED.

No one is unable to have the benefits of Christ except ones who aren’t interested, who think they can take care of it themselves. This is why it’s necessary for us to be able to tell the story of redemption. Start with the scripture from Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” NIV and walk them down Roman’s Road to salvation. (See Roman’s Road page on site)

We can never forget the things that Christ purchased for us at Calvary. One only has to look in the eyes of others who randomly pass us by to see the frustration, longing, and hopelessness that may be briefly revealed in their eyes. I would be willing to bet you would even hear more over a cup of coffee, a bite to eat, and especially a warm smile.

Won’t you be the cheerleader for them?

Please like, share, or comment! Does anybody relate to my hidden envious desire to be a cheerleader? What did you want to be in your youth? Please comment. :0)

  1. Great post! Never though of myself as a Cheerleader, but clearly that is what I am. Wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My career eventually evolved to a trainer and coach of new employees in my field of choice.

    1. Yes, indeed you are a cheerleader when you are doing that stuff! Repeat after me: “I don’t have to wear bows in my hair to be a cheerleader!”…that is unless you want to! :0)
