Good,no Great Friday!

Won’t you all join me in calling today, “Great Friday” instead of just the usual “Good Friday” that I’ve always called it? Thinking and meditating on this all this morning and have decided that is what I am going to do. It’s great because Jesus became the sacrifice for me that swapped my body, my self, my everything for His so that I wouldn’t have to pay a debt that I couldn’t pay.

It’s much more than just the work He did on the cross. He then went to hell to subject himself to Satan’s domain. I don’t even want to think what they all did to the Son of God when he was down there after dying on the cross. This is what has always been amazing to me: If Satan knew what He was going to do, he NEVER would have had our precious Jesus crucified! Never!

It was only in his not being able to understand the greatness of God along with Jesus’ love for us that what we call “Good Friday” even happened. Oh, and the fact that God himself prophesied it in so many ways in the Old Testament.

So today is “Great Friday” from now on for me because I am choosing to honor everything Jesus did for me starting on this Friday so many years ago. All it took was for me to surrender my life to Him and acknowledge every mistake I ever made and still unfortunately do make and accept His miraculous gift to me. That’s the “good news”. The great news is that He did it for you and everyone else that will confess Him as Lord here on earth too!
